If the work you’re doing is truly mold-breaking, you’ll often be ahead of the crowd.
This means accolades will come later, not now when you’re in the thick of the work.
This means that if you want to stay motivated, your fuel can’t come from praise, press, or “likes” — because they won’t be there, at least not yet.
By the time the crowd “gets it” and recognition comes, you’re already on to the next thing. Unfortunately the crowd will try to define and box you in to where they are now.
Being a visionary is often a lonely road. Don’t let being misunderstood or a lack of current recognition stop you from doing the work that matters.
